Science Investigation
As part of our topic on Evolution, the children have been looking at adaptation, evolution, Charles Darwin and his theories around natural selection. We carried out an investigation to look at how the beaks of the finches in the Galapagos Islands have adapted to suit their environment, using various tongs / tweezers to act as the beaks and various sweets as the different food types. We had lots of fun trying to move the various "seeds" with the "beaks" and enjoyed the tasting at the end!
Willow Class Trip to Junior Citizens
On Wednesday 21st May, we visited Rewley Road Fire Station in Oxford to take part in the Junior Citizens programme. During the session, the children were able to experience a wide variety of activities based around life skills and safety procedures. We had a great afternoon and the children learnt lots of life skills that will hopefully stay with them.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
