Roman day - Thursday 21st March

Today we were Romans for the day! We enjoyed doing some arty activities (making shields and mosaics) and then put our discipline to the test whilst learning Roman battle commands and formations! To end the day, we enjoyed reclining like the Romans did and tried some some food that was eaten back then.

PE - Gymnastics - Thursday 14th March

In PE today, we learnt how to do 4 different rolls: barrel, straight, straddle and forward roll.

Have a look at some of our rolls in action!

Literacy - WB 4th March - Limericks

In literacy, we learnt about limericks. After learning the rules, we wrote our own and then performed them to the class.

Warning: some are a little bit gruesome!

Gymnastics - Thursday 29th February

In PE this term, we are doing gymnastics. We have enjoyed learning and trying out different partner balances and this week, we were very excited to get out some of the equipment and use it to do some group balances! Have a look at our balances below!

Science - Thursday 8th February 2024

In Science today, we were finding out about how to separate different mixtures of materials. We learnt about filtration, magnetic attraction, sieving and evaporation. Have a look at some of our handy work below!

Computing - Wednesday 7th February

Today, we spent the whole day doing computing, to complete our project. We started the day by continuing to learn how to programme the crumbles and outputs, before planning and making our fair ground rides. The final part of the day was spent programming our crumbles to make our rides flash and spin! We were incredibly proud of our work and loved it when some of the other classes were able to come up and see it too!

Computing - Tuesday 15th January 2024

In computing today, we started our new unit, which is all about physical computing. We have been incredibly lucky to borrow some physical computing kit from the local computing hub and this afternoon we were able to explore it for the first time! First we explored the crumble controller and then learnt how to connect it up to a flashing LED (a sparkle). Then, using our programming skills, we learnt how to make the sparkle flash in different colours and at different speeds. We even managed to add an infinite loop so that it never stops flashing! We can't wait to carry on with this project. Watch this space for more content!
