Today, we had a great day carrying out many Stone Age themed activities!
The day started with us all going to the hall and being greeted by 2 Stone Age people. They acted as if they were still in the Stone Age before giving us some amazing Stone Age facts and information. It made us all laugh when they were pretending they were actually from the Stone Age!
Following this, Sycamore class had archery. We had lots of fun trying to hit the targets (animals - food) using bows and arrows!
After break, we then used chalk to create our own versions of Stone Age cave art on slate. Check out some of our work:
Before lunch, Stevie and Gareth (the Stone Age people) showed us some Stone Age artefacts, these included animal skins and horns.
In our first afternoon session, we explored real animal bones. We discussed which parts of the body they may be from, as well as what the people in the Stone Age may have used them for. We then sketched a few of the bones.
We finished the day by making our own arrows using flints, feathers, string and sticks. Gareth also joined us and answered some extra questions we had about the Stone Age.
Overall, we had a fantastic day!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
