On Wednesday, Horse Chestnut class and the rest of year 2 went to the Story Museum in Oxford. We all had an amazing time!
When we arrived, we saw a storytelling show called 'Suddenly a Star'. This performance taught us lots of new stories, in musical and comedic ways. We all really enjoyed the show and loved joining in where we could/were asked to.
After lunch, we had a storytelling session where someone from the story museum told us a story about 3 men who were trying to find the greatest gift. Once we had been told the story once, we retold the story using different actions.
We then visited some of the different rooms in the Story Museum, including the Whispering Wood where we found a wishing tree and a sword in a stone. If we could pull the sword out of the stone that meant we were worthy of becoming the next King/Queen. Unfortunately, none of us could get the sword out of the stone!
Finally, we visited a part of the Story Museum based around The Book of Hopes by Katherine Rundell. There were 4 different sheds for us to explore: the doodle shed where we could write on the walls, the dressing up shed, a shed where we could talk to aliens and a shed where we could think about our hopes and write short stories.
