November 2021 Inspection

We were inspected by Ofsted at the end of November 2021.

The purpose of the inspection was to ascertain whether the school remains a 'Good' school and I am delighted to share with you, that this was the outcome. We always welcome external validation as to the quality of education that we provide for the children and we our pleased that the outcome of the inspection affirmed this.

The report outlines the key findings of the school and highlights so many positives about school life at John Blandy School. The report has managed to capture the very heart and essence of our school, recognising the strong relationships that underpin life at John Blandy and the strong relationships that we have with our families.

Over the last five years, we have worked hard to ensure that we provide for our children a curriculum that is broad and balanced and one that is well-sequenced ensuring progress across the year groups. The inspection highlighted that despite the restrictions and disruptions caused by Covid, we want to enrich the curriculum for our children through trips and experiences, opening up the world to our pupils.

We are very proud of findings of the inspection. As we now look towards the future for John Blandy, we are now in a wonderful position to continue to build on this inspection as we continue to strive towards brilliance for our pupils at John Blandy.

Duncan Millard, Chief Executive of Faringdon Learning Trust said:

"We are elated that another one of our schools, has been validated by Ofsted this academic year as being a Good school. Suzanne and her team have done an amazing job over the last few years, in what has been an immensely challenging time.  However, at the heart of everything they do and every decision they make, their focus is always about ensuring pupils thrive and receive the best experience, which is exactly what was reflected in the inspector’s findings.

I would like to thank all our staff at John Blandy and across Faringdon Learning Trust, pupils, their families, and the community for helping to make the school an amazing place for children to start their educational journey. As one child so perceptively said to the inspector ‘If you are feeling low, there is always a special person to help you”.
