Term 6 -Adventures
This term we are going on an adventure. First stop is London with the story Katie in London and exploring the city and the sights. Next we are going to fly to Africa and immerse ourselves in the stories of Handa's surprise and Wangari's tree of peace. Look out for all the exciting activities we get up to!
Tuesday 9th June we had a special visitor to Oak and Birch class, Mr Piper. Mr Piper is a forensic collision investigator and brought his special van with the equipment he uses. We also saw the lights and heard the siren. It was very loud!

Term 5
Our topic this term is Mini Beasts and Big Beasts! We will be looking at bugs, dragons, dinosaurs and more.
We began our term by looking at the story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and were joined by 5 of our very own hungry caterpillars. We enjoyed watching them grow and change, over a few weeks, before releasing them into the big wide world.

We then moved onto to reading the story of Zog, the dragon who never gives up trying to earn a golden star. We tried our hand at lots of STEM activities to find new ways to help Zog fly and building bridges and castles for him with minimal resources. We demonstrated great resilience and problem solving skills. We also made our very own dragon puppets to create stories with.

We then moved onto our final story 'If I had a dinosaur' where we made our own dinosaurs which helped us refine our scissor skills and created our own narratives.
