Art Lesson Monday 27th April Observational Drawing

In our art lesson, we looked carefully at real flowers and leaves and drew what we could see, inspired by the artist Katie Scott. We took our time using simple lines and shapes to notice small details and enjoy drawing like careful artists.

Science Lesson Friday 1st May Habitats

In Science, we have been busy exploring a variety of habitats. We investigated environments such as forests, oceans, and deserts, and learned how different animals are perfectly suited to where they live. We enjoyed discovering how animals find food, stay safe, and survive in their surroundings.

Science Lesson Friday 8th May Minibeasts

We have been learning all about minibeasts. We went on an exciting minibeast hunt around the school grounds, where we used magnifying glasses to look closely at tiny creatures and classification charts to help identify what we found. We carefully searched under logs, in the grass, and around plants, discovering a variety of insects and learning about where they live.

English Lesson Tuesday 9th June The Great Fire of London Descriptions

In our English lesson, we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We created our own fiery scenes using card and bright tissue paper to show the flames spreading through the city. We carefully chose colours and shapes to make our fires look bold and exciting. Then, we used powerful adjectives to describe what we had made, such as crackling, roaring and fierce. We really enjoyed bringing history to life and using our words to make the fire sound as vivid as it looked.

Monday 6th July Trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park

We had a fantastic trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park. We listened to a talk from a zookeeper, who taught us lots of interesting facts about the meerkats and how they live together in groups. We also enjoyed riding on the train around the park and seeing the different animals. Throughout the day, we saw a range of amazing animals, including giraffes, rhinos, penguins and monkeys. We had lots of fun and learnt so much about wildlife. It was a wonderful day that we will remember for a long time.

Tuesday 14th July DT Lesson Making Bread

In DT,  we designed our bread first and drew a picture of what we wanted it to look like. Then we followed the recipe carefully, mixing the ingredients and kneading the dough. After that, we baked our bread and waited for it to cool. We tasted it and thought it was soft and delicious. When we evaluated it, we talked about what we liked about our bread and how we could make it even better next time.
