Year 2 Maths Lesson Friday 9th January
In maths, we were introduced to grouping and how we can split objects into different groups. We used a stem sentence to explain to our partner what we had done and then they checked whether we were correct. After that, our deepening challenge was to find how many ways we can group 7 objects.

Art Lesson Wednesday 11th February - Vincent Van Gogh
In art, we have been learning about Vincent van Gogh, and we were inspired to recreate his famous painting, Stary Night.
We hope you enjoy our final projects.

Wednesday 4th March - Community Cafe
On Wednesday 4th March, we invited our relatives into school for our Community Café. We brought along with us our school books and showed our fantastic learning and talked about what we have learnt so far this year. Afterwards, we played a range of games with them, as well as having some squash and several biscuits! We had a great time, sharing our learning and being in school with our families. We'd like to say a special thank you to Mrs Surtees for organising the Community Café.

Friday 6th March - World Book Day 2026
We celebrated World Book Day on Friday 6th March, and it was a wonderful occasion! We had great fun dressing up as our favourite book characters, wearing our cosy pyjamas, or coming in our home clothes to celebrate our love of reading. Throughout the day, we designed our own book covers, described our favourite characters, and enjoyed singing songs together. It was a truly fantastic day!

Monday 9th March - Maths Lesson - Sorting Into Equal Groups
During our Maths lesson, we explored different numbers and practised sorting them into equal groups. We used a variety of practical resources, such as counters and multilink blocks, to help us organise the numbers. We really enjoyed working with our partners and discovered that we could successfully split the numbers into equal groups.
