Science

In Science this term, we have been learning about living things and their habitats. This week, we left the classroom and went outside for a mini-beast hunt! The children thoroughly enjoyed searching around the school grounds and identifying different types of minibeasts and assessing their habitats. Once they had collected some data, they worked as teams to specialise in one mini-beast and find out as much information about them as they could using books, laptops and their own prior knowledge.

Maths

We are learning about fractions in maths at the moment. The children have been absolutely fantastic at understanding how fractions are formed and how we can add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. To understand mixed numbers and how they are composed, we did a bit of real-life practise!

The Story Museum (Year 3)

Wow! What an inspiring experience. This trip was truly magical and such an amazing experience for the children – one that we would definitely recommend for all age groups! The children loved every part of it, from the story-walk around Oxford to the whispering wood to the completely fascinating enchanted library. The children also got the opportunity to work in teams to create a story based on an object. They created freeze-frames, and we were so impressed by their creativity, we will definitely be mag-pieing this idea for our English lessons! Well done Year 3, you did John Blandy proud!

Year 4 residential to Adventure Plus

Our Year 4's had the best time at Adventure Plus! They absolutely threw themselves into the activities, and we were so proud of their resilience and determination, even if it looked a bit nerve-wracking! They took part in climbing, bush craft, archery and cycling along with endless team games and a fantastic camp fire on Thursday night.

Mexican Day – Year 3

What a ball we had on Mexican Day! The children made and tried nachos, coloured in Mexican flags, learnt a Mexican Hat Dance and finished the day with some Mexican sun drawings!
