Here are some pictures of Sycamore class exploring different elements of Victorian life. This helped inspire and interest us in our focus book this term 'The Street Child'. The children enjoyed walking around the classroom and exploring the different objects that would have been used in the Victorian time.

On our first week together, we made the most of the sunshine and planted some daffodils that will bloom in the spring. We spoke about the importance of responsibility, and it will come in handy when we are learning about living things and their habitats in science in the summer term. The children really enjoy taking it in turns to water these daily!

In our 'Animals including humans' topic in science this term, we have investigated the human digestive system! This experiment was a messy one and the children were fascinated at how our food travels through our bodies. The scientific vocabulary and processes that they could remember after this experiment were very impressive.
