Edmund Hillary was the world’s first recorded person to climb Mount Everest with his partner Tenzing Norgay. He was born on July 20th 1919 and died on January 11th 2008. He climbed Mount Everest on the 20th of May 1953, so he was only 34 at the time. His son is called Peter Hillary who also is a mountaineer. Edmund also had two other daughters called Sarah Hillary and Belinda Hillary. He was engaged to Louise Mary Rose. Edmund won patrons gold medal award in honour of his bravery on Mount Everest.
