As a school, we decided to do Christmas a little differently this year. Each class decided on a country that they would like to learn about and create a performance for our whole school video. We feel very special and honoured to have chosen Germany as our country. We started by researching how Christmas is celebrated in Germany. As a class, we wrote poems about Saint Nicholas, created lanterns for our procession for St Stephen's day and enjoyed learning about advent in Germany. We thoroughly enjoyed creating and performing our video and would like thank everyone involved who helped us and Miss O'Brien, who put the video together.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Maple Class
On Monday 12th October, our class took part in our school's annual Harvest Festival Assembly. This year was slightly different as Rev. Pickering, Mrs Thompson and Mrs Elliott conducted our assembly was online with parents joining us. Each class were given a colour to represent the rainbow and our colour was red. We created Harvest landscapes by using water colours and different stroke techniques so we could add extra detail to our paintings. We chose to paint Harvest landscapes at either sunrise or sunset so we could ultilise our colour red within our paintings.
For some of our PE sessions this term, we took part in some team building exercises. We used a range of equipment, such as a parachute and ball, to help us work as a team and overcome unique and demanding challenges. We had lots of fun and learnt a lot about our fellow classmates and what we can achieve when we work together.
