TERM 6.
This term we are going on an adventure. First stop is London with the story Katie in London and exploring the city and the sights. Next we are going to fly to Africa and immerse ourselves in the stories of Handa's surprise and Wangari's tree of peace.
Tuesday 9th June we had a special visitor to Oak and Birch class, Mr Piper. Mr Piper is a forensic collision investigator and brought his special van with the equipment he uses. We also saw the lights and heard the siren. It was very loud!
Hot weather homework:
Ice explore!
Try making your own icy exploration by freezing things in small pots or ice cube trays. You could try:
Tiny toys like lego blocks or small world animals
Slides of citrus fruit such as oranges or lemons - these will also smell lovely when melting later!
Adding food colouring to change the colours of the water
Once the ice has frozen explore it in a washing up bowl or shallow play tray. How quickly does it melt? Try placing some outside to see how quickly it melting faster.
While your ice is freezing, chat to your adult about what you enjoy doing on a hot day and draw a picture to show your ideas. Could you add a sentence to your picture? Do bring it into school to show us on Friday.
Don't forget to continue reading your school reading book and write it in your reading diary.
