Design Technology – Bread Making

Elm Class has had a fantastic time during our DT project exploring the wonderful world of bread! We investigated different types of bread from around the world, learnt about the bread-making process, and discovered how simple ingredients are transformed into delicious loaves. The highlight of the project was making our own bread, carefully following each step from mixing and kneading to baking. We were so proud of our finished creations, and the best part was tasting the delicious bread we had made ourselves. What a fun and rewarding learning experience!

Science – Plants

Elm Class has loved exploring the fascinating world of plants in our Science lessons! From tiny daisies to mighty oak trees, we have discovered the amazing variety of plants around us. We investigated how plants grow, identified the different parts of flowers and trees, and learnt about the important jobs each part does. We also explored the different ways plants spread their seeds to grow new plants. Through hands-on activities and outdoor learning, we have become budding botanists and have enjoyed seeing the wonders of nature all around us!

Art – Collagraph

Elm Class has been getting creative in our Art lessons by making beautiful collagraph prints inspired by the artwork of Georgia O'Keeffe. We explored her bold use of colour and her detailed paintings of flowers before designing and creating our own collagraph printing plates. We experimented with different textures and printing techniques to produce unique pieces of artwork. We were incredibly proud of our finished prints and enjoyed discovering how artists can use different methods to create stunning effects.
