Science- Materials
This term we have been learning all about materials. As part of this unit, we have explored which materials are waterproof and which are not. We took inspiration from the three little pigs and built strong houses to withstand wind and rain! All of our houses ended up being strong enough to withstand the wind. However, most of the houses ended up in a soggy wet mess! We found out that although cardboard is strong, it is NOT waterproof.

Maths in Year 1
We have been learning all about shape in our maths lessons. We particularly enjoyed our lesson on tangrams! Can you guess which animals we have made?

Enhanced provision
Once we have completed our learning tasks in the afternoon, we can explore some different activities to help build on our fine motor skills or deepen our learning further.
Year 1 PC Ben Visit from Thames Valley Police
This morning, we had a visit from Thames Valley Police where they read us a story about PC Ben and all the wonderful jobs he does as a police person to keep us safe. Then, we looked at the different modes of transport they police use to keep us safe.
